The Security Leaders Summit Boston was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The Summit brought together a community of senior IT executives for engaging peer-level interaction, discussions on new approaches to managing complexities in Information Security, and provided opportunities to collaborate with leaders in the industry. Throughout the day, the Summit Hosts, representing companies across a diversity of industries and sizes, shared their insights and knowledge with the distinguished group of attendees through their presentations, interviews and breakout roundtable discussions.

Jigar Kadakia, Chief Information Security Officer at Partners Health Care, opened up the Boston Summit with the Morning Keynote on “The State of the Industry.” Jigar’s keynote addressed the information security landscape and the challenges facing the industry, the different faces of the CISO, overall responsibility within an organization, and big ticket items with the Board.

In the morning session, “Game Changers,” facilitated by Summit Emcee, Richard Warner, Ravi Thatavarthy, Head of Information Security at iRobot and Steve Lipka, Chief Information Security Officer at Cushman Wakefield, discussed the most critical areas of where they need to be innovative, the impacts they believe they will have on the business, and the strategies they are developing for building capabilities for an agile infrastructure.

In the interview session on “Leadership Challenges,” Mark Sutton, VP and Chief Information Security Officer at Bain Capital, shared his perspective on the most critical challenges a CISO is facing now and in the future, the key factors driving change in the industry, and how he envisions security organizations and the business units will need to work together in the future.

Neil Farquharson, Product Marketing Manager at ZixCorp, Gold Sponsor, highlighted the dilemmas facing many organizations when it comes to implementing an effective email security strategy. Neil provided input on trends they are seeing and examples of how organizations are working towards solving their email challenges.
